Brisbane, Calif.--Future Publishing Holdings, a U.K. publisher of more than 1,000 computer and videogame magazines, has agreed to buy Imagine Media, publisher of eight U.S. titles, including Business 2.0, PC Gamer and PSM. Future's revenue topped $320 million in 1998. Imagine was one of the few gainers in tech ad pages in the first quarter of 1999, jumping to 1,556 pages, up 41% from the same period last year, according to Adscope, a tech ad research service based in Eugene, Ore. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Chris Anderson, Imagine's CEO and Future's chairman, will become chairman of the combined company and will be involved in daily operations.
