Gannett acquires social media provider Ripple6

McLean, Va.—News company Gannett Co. has acquired Ripple6, a provider of social media platforms for customer engagement and social marketing.

Gannett, which publishes USA Today and 85 daily newspapers, has been using Ripple6 for its own social network, MomsLikeMe.com. Ripple6 also powers social media properties for Procter & Gamble.

Among its services, Ripple6's Cloud Communities enables marketers to participate in their customers’ own social networks, and its Social Insights service provides market research based on social network interactions.
