Published on .

McLean, Va.—Gannett Co., publisher of USA Today, announced the launch of mobile sites providing breaking news, sports, weather and other information to mobile phone users in more than 100 local markets.

The sites include content produced by local Gannett Information Centers. The centers provide news and information to multiple platforms, including the Web, newspapers, television and now mobile devices, throughout the day and night.

The new mobile sites carry local, regional and national display advertising and access is free to people with mobile Internet browsing and data plans.

In addition to local community news and information, the mobile sites also link to USA Today’s mobile site (http://m.usatoday.com).
