New York--Gartner Inc. on Monday launched a new service for business strategists responsible for planning business growth, expanding the technology research firm's traditional focus on IT professionals. The new service, GartnerG2, was driven by questions from Gartner's existing clients about how they could use technology to affect the growth of their business. GartnerG2 will focus on ways to assess market dynamics, channels and marketplace strategies to build brands and market share. Gartner will initially shift about 20% of its 700 analysts to focus on the new service. An ad campaign to plug the service is slated for October.
