Gates will reduce role at Microsoft, concentrate on his foundation

Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates announced that he is leaving his day job at Microsoft in two years to work full-time for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  Ray Ozzie will take over as chief software architect, and Craig Mundie was appointed chief research and strategy officer. Gates will retain the title of chairman.
