GE debuts “Tag Your Green” social media campaign

New York—General Electric Co. has rolled out a social media campaign called “Tag Your Green,” designed to encourage dialog among GE's customers, business partners and investors around its “ecomagination” program.

“Ecomagaination” is a business platform GE launched five years ago. The company says it shows how GE is helping to solve some of the world's toughest environmental problems through the development of new products.

The “Tag Your Green” campaign, created by BBDO New York and OMD Ignition Factory, New York, uses digital media to let users share ideas and show expressions of “ecomagination” in their daily lives.

The campaign lets users upload YouTube videos using Howcast, an online video technology provider, and share photos on Flickr to show how they are helping the environment.

The campaign includes a website at http://ecomagination.com/tagyourgreen. The budget is undisclosed.
