San Mateo, Calif.—Marketing automation company Genius.com has opened a London office, establishing its first overseas presence. Genius clients include such U.K.-based companies as telecommunications company British Telecom and network and hosting company Claranet, which helped prompt the expansion, according to Genius. Mark Donkin will lead the office as managing director. Since Genius.com rolled out its “freemium” model last year—which offers a free trial of basic software, with a professional-level version available for a price—the company has grown to more than 1,700 paying customers.
