Platts, an energy information business that has expanded the services it offers commodity markets, has been a profit engine for the group. Meanwhile, J.D. Power has grown its presence in China. Revenue for the information and media group increased 5.1% in the third quarter, excluding its divestiture of BusinessWeek.
