GlobalSight receives $29M from blue-chip VC firms

San Jose, Calif.-GlobalSight Corp., which develops infrastructure software for Web globalization, has received $29 million in venture capital funding from a blue-chip group of VCs, including Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Deutsche Bank Capital Partners Inc., 3I Group plc and J.H. Whitney & Co. GlobalSight has developed Internet globalization projects for clients such as Hewlett-Packard Co. and General Electric Co. The announcement comes as b-to-b companies are increasingly grappling with Web-related globalization issues, for example, language translation and multi-currency platforms
