GlobeRanger taps Ryder vet as marketing head

Published on .

Richardson, Texas--B-to-b supply chain software developer GlobeRanger Corp. has hired Ken Floyd as its exec-VP of sales and marketing, a new position. Previously, Floyd was senior VP-strategy and marketing at Miami-based Ryder System Inc., the largest commercial truck leasing company in the U.S. He will oversee the sales and marketing of AllStarFleet, GlobeRanger's new Internet-based graphic interface aimed at railroad and trucking fleets. The hire underscores the increased emphasis b-to-b start-ups such as GlobeRanger are placing on getting experienced Fortune 500 marketers amid the economic downturn.
