GM names b-to-b e-commerce strategy head

Published on .

General Motors Corp., Detroit, has named Cedric Vanzura as its chief strategy officer-information systems and services group. Vanzura will oversee GM's analysis of Internet b-to-b opportunities and IT resource planning and will report to Ralph Szygenda, the automaker's CIO. Like many upper-level execs migrating to the b-to-b space, Vanzura has a consumer-oriented background. Before joining GM, he was president of online health management company Lifemasters Supported Healthcare; prior to that, he was president of Borders.com, the online book retailer.
