Godengo acquires Texterity

Berkeley, Calif.—Godengo Inc., a provider of content management systems, has acquired Texterity Inc., a producer of digital magazines and mobile applications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Capital for the acquisition was provided in part by New Science Ventures. With the deal, Godengo said it has improved its position to help publishers seamlessly produce content for a variety of formats from print to mobile. Peter Stilson, Godengo's CEO, will lead the combined company. Carl Scholz, who was president of Texterity, will hold the same title in the combined company, which will be rebranded in the coming months. Martin Hensel, who founded Texterity in 1991 and was its CEO, will advise the new company as part of his consulting practice for publishers and media technology companies.
