Google’s share of U.S. searches hits 72.17%

New York—Google accounted for 72.17% of all U.S. searches conducted in May, up about 1% from the 71.40% logged in April, according to a new report from Experian Hitwise.

Meanwhile, competing search engines Yahoo and Bing saw their U.S. share of search queries slip, with Yahoo falling to 14.43% in May, down from the previous month’s 14.96% share, and Microsoft’s Bing dipping to 9.23% from April’s 9.43% share.

Experian Hitwise’s analysis assessed a sample of 10 million U.S. Internet users in the four-week period ended May 29.
