Mountain View, Calif.—Google is exploring new features designed to attract more business from blue-chip marketers, according to published reports.
The company, which derives most of its revenue from selling text-based Internet advertising through its AdWords program, is testing ads with animated graphics for some of its large advertisers. The ads appear on Web sites for which Google sells advertising. The changes, according to reports, are designed to give advertisers more control over where and when their ad messages appear on those sites, which include small Web sites as well as major Internet venues such as The New York Times’ nytimes.com.
