Google, BellSouth team up to market local search

Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—Google and BellSouth on Thursday reached an agreement for RealPages.com to resell Google AdWords to small and midsize local businesses.

As part of the multiyear agreement, AdWords will be marketed as part of BellSouth’s RealSearch search engine marketing service. It is the first time Google has authorized a company to resell AdWords.

The agreement extends Google’s footprint will small and midsize local businesses through BellSouth’s established sales force, while BellSouth’s customers benefit by reaching the extensive Google Network. It expands the two companies’ original alliance, in which Google’s search results and targeted ads were made available through BellSouth’s home page.
