Google buys two companies to enhance Web experience

Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—Google has made two tech acquisitions—Apture Inc. and Katango—to enhance publisher site building and user social outreach. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Apture technology enhances publisher and blogger sites by adding easy ways to add links, videos and social sharing popups, among other features. The technology will be added to Google's Chrome browser. Katango offers a social list-building technology that automatically pushes messages to specified contacts. It is expected to augment the Google+ networking service and its Circles feature.
