Google buys social marketing company Wildfire Interactive

Mountainview, Calif.—Google has acquired social media marketing company Wildfire Interactive. Financial terms were not disclosed. However, AllThingsD reported that Google paid $250 million to acquire the start-up company. Wildfire Interactive helps businesses manage their social media efforts across the Web, including social channels Facebook and Twitter. The platform enables brands to control their Web pages, apps, tweets, videos, sponsorships, ads and promotions from one place.
