Google launches mobile research and analytics tool

Mountain View, Calif.—Google has introduced a new analytics tool that provides insight in chart form into the way customers and prospects are using their mobile devices. The free tool is called Our Mobile Planet. Our Mobile Planet collates Google research as well as statistics from research company Ipsos and the Mobile Marketing Association. The information tracked includes social media usage patterns, mobile purchasing activities and trends. Users can enter queries into the online tool regarding mobile penetration, behavior, activities, commerce and advertising; Our Mobile Planet then displays a custom-built chart. The tool also provides data on email behavior, search, social and video, as well as comparing behaviors related to both desktop and mobile usage.
