Google maintains search lead; Ask.com gains

New York—Google accounted for 71.43% of all U.S. searches conducted in July, virtually unchanged from the previous month, according to Experian Hitwise.

Both Yahoo and Microsoft Corp.’s Bing maintained their No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively, with Yahoo Search logging a 14.43% share of all search queries, and Bing, 9.86%.

Ask.com was the only significant search engine to gain a share of the search query market. It’s 2.32% market share of all U.S. queries in July was up 6% from the previous month. The remaining 70 search engines that are followed by Experian Hitwise accounted for 1.94% of U.S. searches.
