Google offers new options for better search control

By Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—Google continues to add to its search engine results pages, adding a side panel of relevant search results to speed up queries and augment search continuity.

The new filters, added to a search options panel the company introduced in May, allow users to search for related news and blogs, as well as specific types of content, such as videos, or results sorted by time, such as from the last hour or within a specific date range. Viewers can see the side panel by clicking the “show options” button on the query results page.

Also newly integrated into the side panel is a search history, useful for revisiting earlier queries for new content.
