Google ranked top brand in Millward Brown study

New York—Google is the No. 1 brand in Millward Brown Optimor's ranking of the top 100 most valuable global brands, with an estimated brand value of $114 billion.

The BrandZ Top 100, commissioned by WPP, ranks global brands using a valuation system that is based on customers' opinions of brands.

The No. 2 brand on the list is IBM, and No. 3 is Apple. Other brands in the top 10 are: Microsoft, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Marlboro, China Mobile, GE and Vodafone.

The top 100 brands had a total brand value of more than $2 trillion, up 4% over last year's total brand value, according to the report.
