Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—Google on Thursday posted first-quarter revenue of $1.256 billion, up 93% from a year earlier. Net income totaled $369 million, up from $64 million.

Merrill Lynch analyst Lauren Rich Fine, in a research report, called Google’s first-quarter results "jaw-dropping."

Ninety-nine percent of the search giant’s revenue come from advertising. Google-owned sites generated 52%; the Google Network, through its AdSense program, contributed 47%.
