Google reports higher revenue, earnings

Mountain View, Calif.—Google Thursday posted third-quarter revenue of $5.54 billion, up 31% from the year-earlier period. The Internet search giant said its net income was $1.35 billion, up from $1.07 billion in last year’s third quarter. Google also reported that revenue derived from outside the U.S. totaled $2.85 billion, representing 51% of total revenue for the third quarter, compared with 48% in the year-earlier period.
