Google sites outstrip Yahoo in unique visitors

Mountain View, Calif.—The Google search engine and the company's multiple sites attracted 182.5 million unique visitors in June, up 1.4% from May and topping Yahoo sites for the first time since October, according to a report from digital marketing and intelligence company comScore Inc. Yahoo sites drew 178.3 million unique visitors in June, down 6% from the previous month. Some of Google's surge is due to its recently debuted Google+ social service, which attracted 20 million visitors worldwide in its first three weeks, according to comScore. The biggest gainers for the month included American Express Co. (up 41%), Mozilla Corp. (24%) and Groupon Inc. (20%).
