Google top brand in Millward Brown rankings

New York—Google is the top brand in market research firm Millward Brown’s third annual BrandZ Top 100 Most Powerful Brands ranking. Google was No. 1 last year as well.

The top brands are determined using proprietary brand equity data derived from WPP’s BrandZ database.

The top five in this year’s ranking are: Google (with a brand value of $86.1 billion), GE ($71.4 billon), Microsoft ($70.8 billion), Coca-Cola ($58.2 billion) and China Mobile ($57.2 billion).

The combined value of all brands in the BrandZ Top 100 is $1.94 trillion, up 21% from 2007.
