Government site links with major office suppliers

Published on .

San Francisco--Epylon Corp. said late Tuesday that it has signed leading office supply companies Boise Cascade Office Products, Oce, Office Depot Inc., OfficeMax Inc., Online Office Supplies Co., Staples Inc. and Xerox Corp. as participants in its e-business system for schools and government institutions. Epylon said its network serves 1,300 registered school districts and government agencies, which purchase about $7 billion annually. The company allows government purchasers to research products, obtain a price quote and enter into a long-term contract with vendors. The company charges suppliers for sales completed on its system.
