Grainger online division breaks into 3 units

Chicago--Citing growth in its electronic-commerce business, W.W. Grainger, which offers more than 220,000 maintenance, repair and operating products over the Web, announced Monday it has separated its online division into three units: Grainger.com, OrderZone.com and Grainger Internet Commerce. Grainger Internet Commerce, which oversees Grainger's online auction business, increased sales by about 670% between 1998 and 1999, jumping from $13.2 million to $102 million.
