Group forms around Mobile Media Mode initiative

Hanover, Germany -- Nokia Corp., L.M. Ericsson and Motorola introduced a new marketing initiative at CeBIT designed to increase recognition of mobile Internet access among consumers. The effort revolves around the use of the icon WWW:MMM, meaning Mobile Media Mode, which they will place on wireless devices that have Wireless Application Protocol Internet access features to help consumers recognize just when they are using Internet-based services. The trademark will be jointly owned by the three companies and each can license it to other companies using WAP technology. (From RCR.)
