Gulf Coast hurricanes disrupt USPS services

Published on .

Washington, D.C.—Several Florida districts have been or remain affected by hurricanes, including Hurricane Wilma, the U.S. Postal Service said Tuesday.

Among those affected are specific ZIP codes in central Florida and West Palm Beach; shipments remain suspended until further notice. In the Suncoast District, some areas have had suspensions lifted, while the Fort Myers facility is without power. Shipments there are suspended until further notice. In the South Florida District, shipments for post offices within two ZIP code areas are suspended until further notice.

The USPS continues to post updates for mailers on its Web site at www.usps.com.
