Chicago--Ha-Lo Industries, Chicago, launched Wednesday Upshot Direct, a subsidiary providing marketing strategy, marketing and promotion and relationship marketing services on the Internet. Upshot Direct starts out as a member of Hewlett Packard Co.'s e-intelligence Partner Program. The HP partnership will allow Ha-Lo to provide clients with bridge technologies between existing customer marketing databases and new online marketing databases. Upshot Direct will also work with SAS Institute to build marketing analysis tools that measure all points of customer contact. The move is significant because of Ha-Lo's clout in the brand marketing industry, where it ranks among the top agencies, with such clients as Abbott Laboratories and General Electric Co.
