Mountain View, Calif.—Habeas, a company that provides e-mail accreditation tools, announced this week that it has expanded its offerings to include a reputation-based e-mail product.
Habeas has created an e-mail reputation database called SenderIndex, comprising more than 60 million IP addresses and domains, that it said will categorize senders of e-mail as reputable or not. SenderIndex is being offered free to ISPs and anti-spam companies, including MX Logic and Sophos.
SenderIndex categorizes senders into three lists: SafeList, AcceptList and BlockList. SafeList represents the IP addresses that pass all Habeas’ reputation tests, as well as its e-mail accreditation program; AcceptList addresses pass all Habeas’ reputation tests but have not received its accreditation; and BlockList represents IP addresses that fail most of those tests.
