More than half of mobile email sales made on iPad

Portland, Ore.—More than half (56%) of mobile online sales originating from an email take place on a tablet, and 99% of those tablet sales take place on an iPad, according to a report from Infogroup's Yesmail Interactive. Only 0.3% of email subscribers made purchases on Android tablets, though 41% of smartphone purchases were made on an Android device, Yesmail said. Eighty-two percent of all email opens and clicks occurred on Apple devices, according to the report, which was based on data from more than 5 billion marketing emails sent by Yesmail in the third quarter.
