Havas Advertising to become Havas

Published on .

Paris--Havas Advertising Group will adopt the name Havas after purchasing the name from Vivendi Universal for 4.5 million euros, or about $4.0 million U.S. Havas Advertising is the fifth-largest communications group, according to the Advertising Age agency rankings, and owns operating divisions EURO RSCG Worldwide, New York; Arnold Worldwide Partners, Boston; and Media Planning Group, Barcelona. It conducted research and found that the Havas name reflected a strong global brand. Havas was the advertising group's original name, to which "Advertising" was added in 1996.
