Havas Advertising revenue up 49% in first half

Paris--Bucking the trend of agencies posting lower-than-expected growth because of the economy, Havas Advertising Group, Paris, reported an increase in revenue for the first half of 2001. Havas, which owns Euro RSCG Worldwide, New York; Arnold Worldwide Partners, Boston; Media Planning Group, Barcelona; and Diversified Agencies Group, Paris; had revenue of 1.1 billion euro for the first half of the year, up 49.8% over revenue for the same period last year. The division experiencing the strongest growth was the media planning group, Havas said.
