Havens tapped as president of 'The Atlantic'

Washington, D.C.—The Atlantic Media Co. has named M. Scott Havens president of The Atlantic. Havens previously served as Atlantic Media's senior VP-finance and digital operations. In his new role, Havens will be responsible for the Atlantic brand in print, online and at live events, as well as sibling sites, The Atlantic Wire and The Atlantic Cities. Prior to Havens being promoted, Justin Smith held the dual role of president of Atlantic Media and The Atlantic. Smith will now focus on corporate development. Michael Finnegan, currently director of business development and analytics digital, will take on Havens' corporate finance responsibilities as VP-finance and analytics.
