HCIA-Sachs and HBS International merge health care info business

Haarlem, The Netherlands--VNU on Thursday announced that HCIA-Sachs L.L.C., a joint venture of VNU Marketing Information and VS&A Communications Partners III L.P., and HBS International Inc. have reached an agreement to merge their health care information businesses. The new company will be named Solucient and will be headquartered in Evanston, Ill. Its new owners will be VNU, VS&A Communications and VHA Inc., a nationwide alliance of community-owned health care organizations. With an interest in Solucient, VNU further strengthens its position in the health care information markets.
