Avnet will assist Hearst Electronics Group in developing 10-to-15 minute Webcasts. “Not a lot of people are doing 10-to-15 minute Webcasts,” said William Barron, VP-publishing director at Hearst Business Media. “But the truth is the hourlong Webcast was done originally because it had more to do with booking a studio than what the users really wanted.”
Barron said a survey of Web seminar attendees conducted by Hearst found that most prefer to invest 10 to 15 minutes per event, rather than an hour, to learn about new electronics products.
“They don't care if it's live or taped,” he said. “As long as they get their questions answered.”
