Hobbs stepping down as VNU vice chairman

Haarlem, The Netherlands--VNU N.V., the Dutch business information giant, announced Thursday that Vice Chairman Gerald Hobbs will leave the company’s executive board on April 15, 2003, because he has reached retirement age. Hobbs is expected to become a member of VNU’s board of supervisory directors. Hobbs joined VNU in 1994 when it acquired BPI Communications, where he was CEO. Hobbs played a large role in helping VNU gain a foothold in the U.S.
