HP to acquire Neoware for $214 million

Palo Alto, Calif.—Hewlett-Packard Co. announced plans to acquire Neoware, which develops thin client computing and virtualization systems, in a deal valued at about $214 million. The acquisition is part of HP’s strategy to expand in growth markets and extend its leadership in personal computing. HP said it plans to boost production of Linux software and its client virtualization and customization capabilities, as well as broaden its hardware portfolio.
