San Jose--Hewlett-Packard Co. announced the opening of its first store on eBay, at www.stores.ebay.com/hpfactoryoutlet.

The store sells refurbished HP products such as desktop and notebook PCs, printers, handheld devices and low-end servers. It is built on Accenture's Connection to eBay service, which launched in May.

Accenture's Connection to eBay is an end-to-end service aimed at midsize and large businesses that want to sell products on eBay.

The Accenture service provides product listings, inventory management, warehousing and logistics.

Marius Haas, VP-worldwide eBusiness at HP, said eBay's marketplace of 55 million registered users represents a significant untapped market for HP, and pointed to expected growth in the online auction business.

The store is located in eBay's new electronics area, which was announced at the Comdex show in Las Vegas last week.

Also Monday, HP announced a new Web site for legal professionals, www.hp.com/go/legal. The site features articles, tips and access to technology resources.
