Palo Alto, Calif.—Hewlett-Packard Co. named Martin Homlish as exec VP-CMO. He will officially join the company June 1.

Homlish was most recently global CMO of SAP. At HP he will be a member of the executive council and report to CEO Leo Apotheker, who was the CEO of SAP from 2002 to 2010.

“Marty is a world-class marketing executive who will lead efforts to drive our entire business forward by creating a unified marketing approach across the company so we present "one HP' to the market,” Apotheker said in a statement.

Homlish succeeds Michael Mendenhall, who left HP in January.
