HP names VP-marketing for software group

Palo Alto, Calif.--Hewlett-Packard Co. has named Katherine Glassey as VP-marketing for HP's software global business unit.

Glassey was previously executive in residence at Foundation Capital, Menlo Park, Calif., and co-founder of Brio Technology Inc., a business intelligence software developer.

In her new role, Glassey will be responsible for communicating the company's vision of how HP software and services can help customers cut IT costs, consolidate IT systems and align systems with business processes.

She will report to Nora Denzel, senior VP-HP software global business unit.

Glassey formerly was a senior consultant with the management consulting division of Ernst & Young.
