HubSpot acquisitions to bolster reporting, notification

Cambridge, Mass.—Internet marketing company HubSpot has acquired two start-up technology companies, Chime and PrepWork Inc., to augment its reporting and notification capabilities. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Chime, based in Toronto, has developed a plug-in for Google's Chrome Internet browser that aggregates notifications from Gmail, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter into a single alert stream. PrepWork, based in New Haven, Conn., provides profiles of individuals using aggregated content from a variety of social media sources. The two companies will be relocated to HubSpot headquarters in Cambridge.
