Hunke named publisher of ‘USA Today’

McLean, Va.—Gannett Co. announced Tuesday that David Hunke has been named president-publisher of its flagship newspaper, USA Today.

Hunke, who is CEO of the Detroit Media Partnership and publisher of the Detroit Free Press, succeeds Craig Moon, who retired April 17.

Also Tuesday, Hunke announced that John Hillkirk has been promoted to editor of USA Today, from executive editor. He succeeds Ken Paulson, who left the newspaper in February.
