New York—Hurricane Sandy, which blew through the East Coast Monday causing severe infrastructure damage, forced several New York trade shows and conferences to be canceled or shut down early. The ISC East security convention, scheduled for today and Wednesday at Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, was canceled entirely. Show management said on its website that no new dates for the show had been determined. The Advanced Energy 2012 show, scheduled for the same days at the Javits Center, was also canceled. The website of the sponsoring Advanced Energy Research & Technology Center remained out of service at deadline. Both the JA Special Delivery jewelry show, also at the Javits Center, and the International Congress of Esthetics and Spa at Philadelphia's Pennsylvania Convention Center canceled their closing-day schedules on Monday. The American Society of Radiation Oncologists' annual meeting at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center was adjourned early on Monday.
