IAB, ABCE announce global spiders and bots filtering list

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau and ABC Electronic announced the creation of a merged global spiders and robots list. The new list combines the IAB's list of advertising-related spiders and bots with ABC's list of site traffic associated with robotic activity. The IAB began tracking ad-related spiders and bots in January 2005. The new global list will help the companies filter out all nonhuman activity that affects ad impression counts and site traffic counts, and will be updated monthly, according to the IAB.
