IAB defines best practices for lead generation data transfer

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau and its Lead Generation Committee Wednesday released a report designed to help standardize the transfer of data between advertisers and lead generation service providers.

The report, “Lead Generation Data Transfer Best Practices,” says that for security, all lead generation data should be transferred and received in an encrypted format. It also says all lead generation data should be transferred in a common format using common, secure Web technologies.
