Published on .

New York—Internet ad revenue totaled an estimated $4.2 billion in the third quarter, up 33% over the third quarter of 2005, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“The consistent growth of online advertising is a clear indication that marketers continue to embrace the true power of interactive advertising,” said Sheryl Draizen, senior VP-general manager of the IAB.

Interactive advertising has had eight consecutive quarters of growth, with the third quarter of this year setting a record, according to the IAB.

The Internet Ad Revenue Report is conducted for the IAB by the New Media Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers. The report is an estimate of third-quarter revenue. Final figures will be released with fourth-quarter data.
