IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report Internet ad revenue totals $26 billion in 2010, up 15%

New York—U.S. Internet advertising revenue reached a record $26.0 billion last year, up 15% over 2009, according to a report released today by the Interactive Advertising Bureau. In the fourth quarter of last year, Internet ad revenue totaled $7.5 billion, up 19% from the year-earlier period.

Search advertising continued to be the largest online ad format. Search represented 46% of online advertising revenue last year, when search spending increased 12%. Display advertising (which includes banners, video commercials, sponsorships and rich media) represented 38% of overall online revenue. Total online display ad spending increased 24% over 2009.

The report estimated that mobile ad revenue totaled between $550 million and $650 million. “IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report,” is available at www.iab.net .
