IAB issues best practices for e-mail data management

Published on .

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau has issued Email Data Management Best Practices, a position statement recommending privacy and data security guidelines for publishers, marketers and service providers.

Key recommendations include sending commercial e-mail only to those who have opted in to receive the communications and providing unsubscribe information.

IAB also recommends that e-mailing companies not transfer consumer permission to receive commercial e-mail to another company without the transfer being referenced in the new company’s e-mails.
